Stacy hated to be the bearer of even more bad news, but she knew that
Debbie had to know. "I've recently found out about another side-effect that
occured in the rats that were dosed with the drug. They've been going
blind. Now, I've had my eyes tested and so far they're OK, but it's very
important that you have yours checked out, too." Debbie seemed frightened by this revelation, and Donald was clearly angry, but they both made an obvious effort to stay calm. Stacy was beginning to be impressed by how well they were dealing with this, despite their threats of a lawsuit. "All right," Donald said. "I have a cousin who's an eye doctor. I'll give him a call and see if he can see her this afternoon." He went off for a minute to make the call, then came back and announced that his cousin could fit them in if they went to his office right away. "Is it all right if I go with you?" asked Stacy. "I insist on it," Donald said grimly. "I don't want to let you out of my sight until I get some answers!" A short drive later, they were at Donald's cousin's office.
