Getting Down to the Mathematics

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 7733

Hooker waved a fist-full of papers at her, and Stacy saw that they were photocopies of her own scribbled notes, the ones that had been taken from her in her apartment [6746]. "Now," he said, "we've been reviewing your equations here, and your theory seems quite sound." He beamed at her as if expecting her to be proud. She managed a thin, insincere smile back at him. "But," he continued, "we do have some questions about these notes. Some of the details you've worked out here are rather sketchy, and we'll need to you fill us in about the specifics. Also, the practical applications of these equations have yet to be developed, and we'll want your input on that. Shall we get started?"

With a sigh, Stacy said, "Why not?" and took the notes from him. Slowly, she began looking them over. What would be the best way to stall for time without alerting Hooker that that's what she was doing?

  1. "I'll need to take some time to review my notes. Preferably on my own."
  2. "You know, I've been thinking, and I'm not sure this is actually the correct approach, after all."
  3. "Oh, dear. I'm afraid some of my memories of physics are rather fuzzy. It must be your amnesia drug."
  4. "Well, suppose you outline for me, as thoroughly as possible, what you've gotten out of my notes, and then I can fill in the gaps."
