take my meals in the canteen. The occasional break from my work will keep
me fresh.
Oh, and could you supply me with some paper and a pen? And perhaps a PC as

preferably with Mathematica installed on it?" Stacy
hoped that she had sounded like someone who was eager to get down to some
serious work.
Hooker readily agreed to all her requests. "Just use the intercom in your room if you need anything else, or when you're ready to rejoin us here," he told her. "One more thing," said Stacy. "I don't suppose there's any chance of getting a bolt fitted to the inside of my door? I'd sooner that your guards didn't barge in when I'm taking a shower." Hooker shook his head. "Sorry," he said. "However, I'll ensure that in future they won't come in until you respond to their knock." Whilst Stacy was free to wander about on her own floor, it seemed that that was not the case on the other floors, since after breakfast the guards escorted her back to her room, even though she protested that she could find her own way. When she entered, she found that a PC had already been installed on her desk, and there was a supply of office stationery beside it, some twenty minutes after she had made her requests. She was impressed, despite herself, by the operation's efficiency. Stacy supposed that she might as well do what she had said she would do, and review her notes. After an hour or so:
