Astra had pointed out that she could hardly be expected to help rescue Fred whilst remaining starkers, and Belboz had suggested rather forcefully that a pair of diamond earrings was hardly essential equipment for a rescue mission, when they were distracted by the sound of sobbing.

Turning to look at Josh, they saw that he had curled up into a ball, was rocking back and forth, had put his hands over his ears, and was crying his eyes out. "Oh dear!" Astra said. "What can we do to snap him out of it?"

  1. "Show him page 23 of that comic book with you on the cover. I see that he brought it through with him."
  2. "Food might do it. I'll conjure up a pizza for him."
  3. "I haven't the faintest idea."
  4. "Never mind him. How could you possibly have spent as much as 35 gold pieces on a pair of boots, as shown by this receipt?"
