Fred is not the biggest fan of spiders. He is not scared of them, but
rather would live in a world where they were all dead. This,
however, was a spider worthy of being scared of. It was easily three feet
tall, with fangs that Fred could quite literally see were dripping with
ichor. Standing next to it was what was clearly (for Fred had been
educated in fighting various creatures) a gnoll. As the party walks towards the town, these pace them, staring directly at Fred. They make not a sound, and it causes Fred to really consider how to break this news to Astra. Being a warrior princess, she likely is to run out there and attack them. Fred feels instinctively that before getting the full story at the town, this would be a very poor plan. Then again, not telling Astra could result in Astra getting really pissed off at Fred. Again. This is not something that Fred relishes the thought of. By this point, Velus has broke into a full out run and is considerably ahead of Fred and Astra. If a fight breaks out, he will not be able to help. Fred decides on the casual approach. "Oh by the way Astra", he says, as they continue to move north at a relaxed pace. "Yes?" says Astra, who before this was lost in her own thoughts, wondering where she could get a good bath when they get to this city. "What are your feelings on spiders?" asked Fred, hoping against hope for a decent answer. "Spiders? Well, they don't really bother me. I don't even kill them unless they are in the way and won't move. Why do you ask?" "Ah. Good. Well, hmmm. Ok, keep walking, but look about thirty feet to my left." And again, Fred hopes that this will not end in anguish. He really wants to at least get to the city without suffering a grisly demise. Astra looks to Fred's left, and her eyes widen in shock. "A gehoren?! Here?! Holy sh--!" Fred stops dead in his tracks. "What?! You have seen spiders of that size before?" and then...
