The machine governing the bottomless pit needed three quarters to continue
functioning (I.E. not explode). Fred rips off his shirt, then asks Hank,
who is down to his belly button, for quarters.

Fortunately Hank has five in his shirt pocket and hands them all to Fred.

Despairing, Fred jumps into the Bottomless Pit in the -other- corner of the room.
