Fred decided that her chances of reaching Scotty or Spock without being
detected were remote. And even if she managed to do so, it was unlikely
that she could be of any material assistance. Her expertise was in
communications, not engineering or alien parasites. And she also was an
expert in combat, she reminded herself. But she didn't have a sword, and
even if she had it wouldn't have been much use against phasers.
So her best bet was surely to head for the Cabot. Not only was it nearby, but McCoy would surely attempt to return there to check on LeClerc's condition once his work in the science lab was completed.
