Staircase Room 11 was very different. It was curved. Ever so slightly.
Fred could only see a mile in each direction. The outside wall had dozens
of windows, of the same wooden frame and size. The only thing the windows
showed was fog. The inside wall had dozens of staircases, all with
identical teal carpeting and red oak bannisters. They simply went up from
holes in the floor and into the ceiling. The holes were aurrounded by
wrought iron bannisters, to keep one from falling. To access a staircase,
a lever was pulled and the left side of the railing swung open. Every twenty feet or so, sometimes more, was a wide corridor leading deeper into the building. Fred paced as Chuck dozed in a teal couch, the TV tuned to one of the more boring episodes of Star Trek: TNG and that was saying something.
