The Never Ending Quest - Episode 68079

Rei Ayanami Quatermain

What we should really be doing is deciding on what exactly to do next here, right? That is what big sister is planning on doing here in a second...

A whisper of thought from my red haired twin tiptoes through my mind and I have to put down an urge to fidget here. Even now I am not totally comfortable with the idea of actually giving orders and leading; I have been lead and followed orders for almost all my life before becoming someone . . . else when my family came into my life (re: 61528). No, but circumstance has pushed me into the limelight here and I shall not fail.

. . .

Hm, as and aside and if nothing else the. . . infusions of the memories and experiences of that one . . . "person"--my Yui Akari--has guaranteed that I am MUCH older (mentally and emotionally) than your average teenager. If nothing else, I learned . . . a few things that shall help me and the rest here. I shall not fail because of lack of experience in leading others.

. . .

Even IF I consider I consider that slut . . .er . . . that woman in need of some of the same justice that had been visited upon "my" version of Gendo Akari and "my" version of Dr. Ritsuko Akagi, I know how to lead people (and just not take orders blindly). Then again, there was all that I'd learned from my family that . . .

Uh, let's get back on subject.

Sigh. I HOPE that I shall not fail because IF I and my group does fails then the Halkans shall know an existence that could only be called a living Hell. I would rather not have that on my conscious. Neither does any of the others of the group, really. Well, most of them anyway. The G-Man's thoughts and feelings on the matter he always seems to cloak. I believe that he cares more for what he can get from this deal for him and his race . . .

And while through the Contract he's working with us (and not pretending just to do it), there are a few issues I feel must be addressed after this little session. Alone.

If nothing else, I do believe I must dispel him of his mistaken belief that I am just a teenage girl (albeit a bright one) put over him by Elrondir just to tweak his nose!

"We are going to have to keep this simple . . . no need to get more involved with the locals' lives than necessary," I begin, pausing look at every member of my group.

Can see that some faces about me are attempting to NOT roll their eyes at that one. Given the track record my family had thus far with the last Quest should clue you in on something: things tend to get out of hand. Hm, vast understatement the last. We'd hope to keep things relatively quiet and instead we did an atomic powered "Wild Wild West Show"!

WAY too public and far for everyone's taste, let me tell you! If not for that impending attack with atomic devices called for by a panicky JSSDF commanding officer (who should never have been given comission in the first place), then we'd have gone another way!

While the last Quest had been successful, extreme measures had been called for: two family members are STILL in a coma despite the best efforts of VERY advanced medical assistance (and other magical aid from on High that only high clergy from those of a religious bent can dish out) available from AK-47's ship.

  1. "Especially the lives of the local versions of the First Child, Second Child and Third!" I add, mostly towards the G-Man. "It would be not only counterproductive in the end to our Quest, but most likely needlessly harmful to them in the end!"
