Cant Start a Fire Without a Spark

"Shall we be off then?" Astra said.

"C'mon!" Fred whined. "Where is your sense of romance, of adventure?! And your merchant friend talks funny!"

"Pardon, kind sire what art thou alluding to by that?"

"Farewell," Astra smiled. "Perhaps we shall meet again when you are more mature."

Astra and the merchant exited the Stoned and Hammered. Fred gazed after them for a moment, then resumed his seat. Being unable to hire the beautiful flame-haired barbarian princess had been a serious setback to his plans, but Fred still had the whole day to kill in here. He ordered another pint and looked around for prospective candidates. Fred decided to stop messing around with the candidates one by one, and instead hire 2 or 3 at a time, so he could get right back to his real mission faster.

1. Hire Belboz the Necromancer, Ug the Troll Barbarian and Velus the Teen-Dog, 5000 gold.
2. Hire Astra's cousin Diana, who happens to be in the same bar, along with her two bodyguards, 8000 gold - expensive, but worth it.
3. Hire Ralph the Drunken Mercenary and his minstrel sidekick Cur, 1000 gold, cheap!
4. Hire the militant sisters of St. Obviate (Alendra, Kayla and Shalaya) who have just arrived to smash the bar for not enforcing King Emry's prohibition. Likely to be expensive.
5. Hire Benedict the lazy Gun-Monk (what, you didnt know there were guns in this world? And specialized monks that wielded them?), 2500 gold.
6. Hire Scott Chen and Josh Burbank, who suddenly show up at the bar out of nowhere, 2 gold each to start because they dont know the value of the money in this realm.
