Stacy's heart began to race. Without stopping to think about it -- or she
surely wouldn't have had the courage to do it -- Stacy grabbed a vase from
where it rested on one of the living room bookshelves and dashed over to
the doorway. As she saw the doorknob beginning to turn, she flattened
herself against the wall behind the doorway, preparing to leap out and bash
the intruder on the head. The door opened. In walked a man. Stacy leapt out, screaming, ready to bring the vase crashing down on him. He looked at her...
