The papers must clearly be burnt at once. Stacy grabbed them, then paused
for a moment. How was she to burn them?
She didn't recall seeing a book of matches or a cigarette lighter anywhere
in the
apartment. (In spite of the pamphlet about the dangers of smoking which
she had found
in her bag, she didn't think that she was a smoker. In the few hours that
she
could remember, she had never felt a craving for a cigarette. Though if she
was going to keep on suffering from a shaky hand, perhaps she ought to
take the
habit up!)
She decided that tearing each page into small pieces and then putting it in the waste disposal would be a better idea. But just as she was about to start:
