They were left for several days in their luxurious accomidations, although
it was indeed a prison. They were fed two meals a day; one at sunrise and
one at sunset. The food, although hearty and flavorful, was not fancied by
Lord Frederigo D'Honaire. After the second day he threw his tray down in
disgust. "What do these uncouth Northerners taint their food with!? It is like a burning hellfire in my throat! Are they trying to kill us!?" "Calm down you addlepated allarian!" Astra exclaimed, setting down her empty tray near the door. "Not everyone in the wide world eats the bland cuisine of you Kingsmen. Gruel and mutton with sheep-innards and shit-fed pig's feet aren't the only edible things on the earth! What you are tasting are spices.""Okay, but what about whores? We have been here nearly two days and yet they have offered us no whores of any kind! Why, in Allaria..." Fred was cut short as the door suddenly swung open. A short figure, clothed in white robes, stepped into the room and shut the door behind himself. It was Mendo, the dwarf.His face bore the damage from the fight two days earlier. Chiefly his large nose, which was crooked and swollen. His jetblack eyes scanned the room. He stopped his gaze on Fred, who stood up upon seeing the dwarf enter. "Well, my happy vagabonds, fate has been kinder to you than most. Too often ignorance of our law is followed by swift death. But The Immortal Monkey has spared you. Even after you infidels questioned His authority!" His face turned red and he muttered something in a strange language. At length he pulled out a parchment and cleared his voice as he read:"The Allarian and the Aqualarian are to be brought before the court of The Monkey at sunset this very day. They would do good to hold their tongues until called on by The Immortal Monkey. May He live forever in glorious Monkiness! All hail The Monkey!" He folded up the parchment and put it back inside his robes. Without another word he opened the door and shut it swiftly and loudly as he left.
