The Magic Corset

"Would I ever! Aurelia was one of our greatest queens, and her corset was said to turn aside a blade better than any armour. I know that she met her death somewhere in these caves, and that her body was never found. But she lived three hundred years ago, and her corset must have long since rotted away."

"Well it hasn't. perhaps because it's magic."

"Can you take me to it?"

"Certainly."

As the lion led Astra through the tunnels, with the Scarecrow and Velus following along behind, she asked: "How come nobody else has found the corset before you?"

"A very recent rockfall opened up a chamber that had previously been sealed off. Inside the chamber I found a skeleton, wearing the corset. All the other clothes had long since disintegrated of course."

"So how did you know it was Queen Aurelia?"

"Who else would wear a corset down into the caves? It wouldn't be the most practical of garments."

Within twenty minutes they reached the chamber. As respectfully as she could, Astra unlaced the corset and removed it from the skeleton. She saw that it was designed to support but not cover the breasts.

"You'll have to pull the laces tight for me," she told the Scarecrow. "You're the only one with hands rather than paws. It is said that, the tighter the fit, the more effective the magic will be."

1. By the time the Scarecrow had finished, Astra's waist was compressed to twenty inches and her breasts were thrust up and out. She was well protected from a blade. The only snag was that she was finding it hard to breathe.
2. The Scarecrow wasn't strong enough to lace the corset very tight, being made mainly out of straw.
3. What none of them knew was that a magic item worn at the moment of death becomes cursed.
