"Ah, good," Astra replied. "I wondered whether the old man had bungled our arrival." "What manner of place is this?" Carola asked as she bumped into Astra. "I can see nothing at all!" "Qundarian seemed certain there was something important for us here," Astra replied. "But what a place like this could possibly harbor, I know not. The old man's games only get stranger by the hour." "What now, then?" Carola asked. Both sisters looked toward the distant red glow. "I suppose we walk toward the light," Astra finally said, and the two of them began walking through the blackness toward their destination.

  1. The strange glow draws nearer and nearer as they walk...
  2. Although they are walking directly toward the red glow, it seems fixed on the horizon, and despite however far they walk, it never seems to get any closer.
  3. Suddenly, Carola trips over something in the darkness.
