Tabris After having handed the sleeping little girl to one of her older "sisters" (one Yui Akari . . . remember who's soul resides inside this little one here), I turn to call out to Elrondir . . . .when I suddenly get a visit from none other than one Aslan. Trust me on something, when THIS lion talks you better believe that I listen!! Granted, he is not in the same class as the heavenly messenger who calls herself Astra. However, despite not being in the same class, the Lion of Narnia DOES have the ability to inspire awe (and I will admit . . . love) within me all the same. The others in the room are silent during this visitation, and by the way that I notice that nobody in the room besides myself not even breathing or blinking I can guess why: nobody else besides Aslan and myself are unfrozen in time here! In short, it was . . . something of a revelation to say the least! Oh, not to say what Aslan had to tell me was terrible. Some of the news was MOST welcome! Not to say that the trials and tribulations is exactly over, I must say. Well, at least not for everyone here. It is just that some of it was . . . .terribly surprising to me....and it must show on my face when everything returns to normal. But let me tell you something! When I and my wife meet again after this is all done, I do believe she and I should have a LONG talk! Dr. McCoy "My God Nagissa," I blink. "You're even paler than usual!" That is saying something, folks! Considering the fact if it was not for the fact that his complexion and eye coloration are a lingering reminder of his former genetic inheritance, I would have called him an albino. Geeze, makes the "G-man" (the one who some have nicknamed "the smoking man" for God only knows why) look deeply tanned by comparison! "Please," the pale man with the red eyes begs me mutters. "Use the call sign and not that name if you would sir? I find it more . . .honest if nothing else." Gah, right! Though he has his family name printed on that uniform of his the guy wants to be called by his pilot "cosign" if given the choice. Yet another bit of weirdness in a whole parade of weirdness, I see. Gee, what next? I would not be surprised to find out that I'm not really a Star Fleet doctor but actually only 20th century actor who PLAYS one! "I have news directly from Aslan the Great Lion of Narnia!" Tabris the pilot suddenly blurts out, derailing my train of thought. Sigh, before we go any further I feel I must at least go ON record and put down some kind of play card for all those here and now. Being that there are so many duplicated people about one can get very confused very quickly here! Besides, some kind of refresher on who is who would be nice, I figure! That and it would make things so much EASIER to follow, you must see. We need a bloody playcard to follow what is up here! First, let me begin with MY group. Yes, I could start somewhere else, but I felt like doing it HERE. Got a problem with that? Good! I do just hope that once I tell it all that someone out there does not decide to fit me up for a straightjacket. This is the stuff of paranoid delusion, I fear! For the sake of brevity, here is an encapsulated format of what McCoy talks about. While most perhaps know of the "old school" Star Trek, not everyone does. That said, here are the basics: http:// en. wikipedia .org /wiki/Star_ Trek:_ The_Ori ginal_ Series The reality that THIS particular McCoy hales from is most accurately reflected in that article. Ask him of events that would have been found in supposed "precursor" series (aka Star Trek: Enterprise) or concurrent series (ala Star Trek: the Animated Series). Anyway, events in McCoy's story follow the original series UP until near the end of the episode "Mirror, Mirror". It was the same up to where the Mirror Spock had confronted the wayward Enterprise landing party. They got into a battle but instead of that display skull which one of them smashed over the Mirror Spock's head knocking him cold, it actually . . . killed him. Lucky shot, in other words. The wayward ones made their frantic way to the transporters, only to be held at phasor point by Lt. Moreau. Unable to overpower her they (with SOME trepidation) complied with her demands and managed to beam back to their home reality just as their Mirror counterparts got beamed back. However, due to the fact that the transport was "unbalanced" (i.e. one heavy), it was soon discovered by some of the Champions that the process didn't . . . put all the people back exactly correct. This means that the away team (the surviving members) have a condition which could/would lead to something called transporter psychosis, a condition that would not have been discovered until MUCH later in McCoy's timeline. To say nothing about any kind of effective treatment for that malady... Not everything today had been totally disagreeable for those of the Enterprise, at least something good came of it. Still, moral is in the dumps due to Captain Kirk being dead AND their ship being just one step above a total derelict. Another group in this mess hales from the reality which mirrors one particular "first person shooter" video game called Half-Life. ( http:// en. wikipedia .org /wiki/ Half-Life ) McCoy's first encounter with anyone from that reality had been none other than Dr. Gordon Freeman (physicist). (http://en. wikipedia. org/wiki /Gordon_ Freeman ) But not much in the way of a meaningful exchange could be made because both had been rather busy with trying to get out of the tank of LCL where they keep the spare Rei Ayanami clones (re: ). As it stands, Freeman perhaps is the most well liked ones of the Half-life people McCoy's met thus far. Granted, he has yet to meet Barney Calhoun or Adrian Shepard but after meeting the G- Man . . . it kind of made McCoy (and a lot of OTHER people) leery about prospects. The G-Man is kind of creepy (http:// en. wikipedia .org /wiki/ G-Man_ %28Half -Life% 29) and left him cold! And THEN there are those from those Neon Genesis (http:// en. wikipedia .org /wiki/ Neon_Genesis) realities he'd met. He could write a book on just a few of them alone!
