"What?" said Astra, surprised by what Qundarian had said. "How do you know
about this trouble, what business is it of yours, and what makes you think
that we will be willing to aid you?"
"The two of ye want to escape from the dragon's caves, don't ye? If I get ye to the surface, then surely it is reasonable for ye to help me in return?" "That seems reasonable," Carola put in, hoping to prevent Astra from antagonising the old man again. "As to how I know about it," Qundarian went on, "that is not your concern. And it is my business because I choose to make it so." "All right," Astra conceded. If it meant that the old man would help Carola and herself to escape from the dragon's domain more quickly than they could otherwise have done, then she supposed that it must be a good thing. "So where will you be sending us and what is the trouble?"
