Blazing Zombies

The torches worked to great effect, the undead catching fire and burning.
They continued to fight amongst each other, spreading the fires further.
Occasionally Fred or Diana had to strike down a wayward, burning zombie
that came their way. But, by and large, once they were sufficently
burned, their charred remains fell to the ground, motionless.
There was another problem caused by this strategy. As the zombies fought, they would sometimes fall into or near one of the tightly packed wooden buildings in the lower districts of the city. Soon, a large section of the city was ablaze. The heat and smoke (not to mention the stench of burning flesh) were becoming too much for the group to handle, pinned as they were near the gate, with flames all around. "We need to move!" Diana yelled, coughing. She and the other girls had removed some of thier bandages and were using them to cover their mouths and noses. The way out of the city remained firmly shut, despite everyone pushing together at the gate. "There must be another exit!" Lady Sara said. "There's no time to look. We need to go deeper into the city." Fred responded, gesturing towards the huge tower.
