Astra of Aqualaria ran from the room and looked for options. The corridor
that exited the room branched off to the right and left, and there was a
tunnel straight up! Astra jumped upwards and grabbed at a large root that
hung down from the hole in the ceiling. She pulled and pulled, bringing
herself higher until she could reach out to the stony sides of the hole.
After hefting herself up she saw that she was in a small room that had one table, a book and a pot full of coals. There was another hole in that ceiling with the bottom section of a ladder hanging down. She stood, reached for the ladder and then thought, "This is too easy!" Then she remembered the burning candle and hoped the orcs would keep their word. She figured they would, especially if they were betting on the outcome, and betting was a prized activity among orcs (so she had heard back home) – and any cheater would find himself without a tongue, or an eye, or a thumb, real fast. She climbed up the ladder and would've entered into another small room except that that room had an occupant, a four foot small hunchbacked thing that had tentacles where a mouth belonged. It wriggled it's pale eyes at Astra and gurgled a "Booo!" at her. This completely discombobolated the warrior princess and she let go of the ladder, an action which sent her to the bottom of the lower room.
