With the cloud of crows rushing in on her, Astra leaped into the nearest entrance--the corridor lit
by lamps. As she fell on the stone floor, she turned her head and saw the crows stop in midair as if
they were hitting a wall. They screamed and kept diving into the barrier, but couldn't get through.
With her muscles sore and aching, Astra pulled herself up off the floor. Should she go down the passage, or wait until the crows gave up and left? She didn't know how long it would take until that happened. Whatever it was that was keeping the crows away might be a danger for her too.
