Fred sprang from his hind legs and leapt to his opponent's left. To his horror, he missed the hoard. The floor of the dragon's cave was tiled with polished marble, and his paws slid across the slick floor. His back slammed into the wall. Fortunately for Fred, his body was well-protected with natural armour. He panicked and tried to regain his footing, but he slipped and rose and then slipped again. "How was the other dragon able to move around?" Fred thought. "It must be the coins on the hoard." Fred looked at his opponent. He thought he saw a look of amusement mixed with contempt. The other dragon did not even do him the honour of attacking. Fred then tried beating his wings in hopes of getting himself off the slick spot on the floor. He flapped and flapped, but he could not quite get airborne. The other dragon just sat on his hoard, as if he were entertained by the spectacle that Fred was creating. Fred gave up on the flight option. What could he do? He strained to remember anything the he knew about dragon lore, and then he tried
