Two Red Dragons

Fred the Dragon managed to feel his way through the tunnels and caverns to the Dragon's Lair. Fred could make out a lumpy pile of coins, plate, and jewels. In the midst of it he could see the other dragon crouched, and staring at him. There was a red glint in his eyes, which reminded Fred of a cat's.

Then something unexpected happened.

Fred heard the dragon say, in a oddly high-pitched voice,

1. "Hi, there. I hope that you aren't going to attack me. I have always wanted to meet one of my own kind."
2. "I know why you are here, Lord Fred. Before we fight, I would like you to listen to my story. I think the we can make a deal that will make us both happy."
