Chekov Takes the Initiative

"I vas guarding the keptin, as Meester Scott ordered," he said grimly, "Vhen I heard this sound behind me. I turned and saw her - she had her back to me, but I could tell she vas about to turn around. I had to do something before she spotted us, so I attacked from behind. I - I think I vas able to knock her before her parasite could let the others know vhat vas going on."

"Hmm, I hope you're right," she replied, sound as grim as he did. "We need to fix it so that even if she wakes up, she won't know where she is or what's happened to her. Here, help me get the cover off this cycle unit."

It took a few minutes, but Fred & Chekov moved Chun into the unit. It would be cramped, but she was able to fit, and the unit cover's ventilation would ensure she didn't suffocate.

"That vas good thinking, Uhura," Chekov said admiringly.

"Thanks," Fred said with a smile. "Now, keep an eye on the Captain and an ear out for Chun. I'll go see how Scotty and Sulu are doing."

1. Scotty and Sulu were just about finished.
2. Scotty and Sulu had run into some unexpected problems.
3. Scotty and Sulu were engaged in hand-to-hand combat with each other.
4. Scotty and Sulu were surrounded by phaser-wielding female crewmembers.
5. Scotty and Sulu were nowhere to be seen.
6. Scotty and Sulu lay on the ground, unconscious - and they seemed to be changing!
7. A perplexed and tense Scotty and Sulu had been joined - by Captain Kirk?!?
8. Before Fred can reach them, she feels a phaser stun in her back, and falls unconscious.
