So, her phaser in her hand, Fred went back the way that they had come. When she reached the crawlway where Chekov and the Captain had been hidden:

  1. There was no sign of either of them.
  2. Kirk was still unconscious, and Chekov was tying up a female crewmember - also unconscious and with a big bruise on her forehead where Chekov had hit her with the butt of his phaser.
  3. Chekov was unconscious and there was no sign of Kirk.
  4. Chekov and the Captain were still there. "The Keptin came round," Chekov said. "Sitting on top of him didn't work, so I had to slug him. I hope I don't get court-martialled."
