"And, so, Master Jereld, you are not concerned about the dragon?"

"No, Your Excellency. The mage of which I speak uses the fact that the dragon is nearby to protect himself from the strong but ignorant, but, in fact, if I do not provoke the dragon then that dragon will ignore me. Dragons are not stupid creatures, and he simply would have nothing to gain by attacking me."

"And when will this mage be vulnerable?"

"When the planets of Fornax and Delphinus are in alignment, the measures that he takes to protect him will need to be renewed. That is when I plan to attack."

"Jereld, are you sure that this is wise? The omens for Chahardapolis are favourable now. Your powers seem sufficient to me."

"Your Excellency, this is a risk, but one that I have weighed. I have to do it. If I do not undertake such challenges, I will become complacent, and my powers will fail. Chahardapolis can survive my death. But I am confident that I will succeed. And the rewards are almost unbelievable."
