Given a good diet and the right type of exercise, a human male could
expect to live to at least 85; a human female to around 88. Belboz kept
his hand in with many different magics, though he was primarily known as a
necromancer. As such, he knew all about extending his life beyond normal
mortal limits. By rights he should have died several centuries ago. Some
spells decay over time - the one Belboz used to prolong his life would
need to be recast in several days time. This crucial period was not known only to Death; Belboz had a contender to his crown. A young but still very able magic-user known as Jereld would issue a challenge to the elder necromancer's sovereignty that Belboz could not afford to ignore. The ledger stated that it would be his undoing - unable to recast the spell, he would age rapidly then crumble to dust.
