Fortunately, in spite of all her changes, Synizn retains her innate magical ability. She uses a spell that effectively hypnotises Rei. Not only should this ensure that Rei's answers to her questions will be completely truthful, but it may also enable her to access memories that would otherwise have been blocked off even from Rei herself.

At the same time as Synizn is putting Rei under she is also breastfeeding the hungry cubs, thankful that at least she has milk to give them. (Lady Akira had taken sufficient thought in the transformation to make sure that the needs of the cubs would be taken care of.)

In response to Synizn's questioning, the hypnotised Rei:

  1. Is able to recall everything, including her original identity.
  2. Still cannot remember anything before she was transformed, but her answers do at least reassure Synzin that she is not a threat.
