Lost with the Queen of Fey

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 58918

Fred let out a sigh of relief. All he had to do was bring this fey woman to the fallen elf and he and Astra could finally get out of this mess. He'd started walking in the direction of the camp when he realized that something was not right.

"Since I've agreed to help you, could you please let Astra down?"

"Oh, the girl?" The Queen of Fey turned to the dangling Astra. "Yes, I'll release her after you bring me to the elf."

"Wha-what?" Fred stuttered, soundly slightly dismayed. "But…but then we'll need to walk all the way back to this spot after you get your elf. Wouldn't it be easier to just release her now"?

The queen's soft look and tone once again turned bitter and harsh. "Do you and your friend want to leave or not?"

"Yes" Fred retored.

"Then we find the elf first and that's final. Now hurry up. We're wasting our time!" Her words echoed through the silent words and sent the birds and bats flying out of the trees surrounding them.

Fred signed. He gave one last grieving look at Astra, and motioned the queen to follow him.

Later…

"How much longer must I wait?" spat the queen of fey and she forced her way through a thicketed, shrouding, bush. For a few hours, the two had been wondering through the dark, rough forest. At first, the queen of fey had been silent and patient. As the first hour slid by, however, she began to mutter a few words of gripe and as time exceeded forward, her complaints increased until she had almost ceased to quit talking.

Fred gritted his teeth. "We should be there any minute now," he said for the fifth time that hour. While he'd been searching for Astra, he'd been so troubled by her disappearance that he hadn't bothered paying a whole lot of attention to his surroundings, and was now paying the price.

"It doesn't take a queen a fey to know that you're lying" she responded darkly.

Fred's blushing face was hidden by the darkness. "I promise you, give me time. I recognize this area. We should not be more than a parthon away from the camp." This time, Fred wasn't lying.

"We'd better be, because if I have to wait much longer, you and girl's heads will be feeding the wolves tonight."

Unhappy with the conversation, Fred tries changes the subject. "Why are you after this elf anyways?"

  1. "He is a runaway servant" If this queen is his master, I can't blame him for running.
  2. "He is a criminal." Sounds like someone who should be punished.
  3. "Because he is an elf." What?
  4. "Is that any of your business?" Shouldn't have asked.
