"Alright then," she said, grinning to herself. "Just thought I'd
ask." A few hours later they left the inn behind and they were now travelling deep through the Three Kingdoms countryside. All was verdant and green, in some cases naturally, in other cases not. It was perfect weather for pesky biting insects such as gnats and midges, but the birds wheeling about their heads were making a good meal of them. "Fred," Astra suddenly said. "Will Behjing have a magical wall surrounding it, like the border has? Or do they rely on the border wall to completely protect them?" "I don't honestly know," came the reply. "My knowledge of this country is limited to what I've already told you." This did nothing to soothe the misgivings she'd been having. Though she had never told Fred, last night she had had a dream that they were living in the Three Kingdoms, safe from the Dragon's reach. She actually had real clothes on for once, and Velus was now fully human. It had been really vivid and it was no small disappointment to find that it had been simply all a dream. Minestus, having seen this, had a bout of paranoia, feeling his plan had been compromised. These had increased ever since Fred and Astra had entered the Three Kingdoms. He could really do nothing except watch and wait.
