After an hour or so, when they felt that the inn had been left a safe distance behind them, they stopped for breakfast from the supplies in Fred's pack (which he had replenished the previous evening). Then they remounted Fred's horse and continued on their way.

The next few days passed without anything of note happening. They took a route that took them through sparsely populated regions of Allaria, passing well to the south of Caemlyn, to minimise the risk of Fred meeting anyone who knew him. [51872, 51900] Some nights they found an isolated inn where they could stop; on other occasions they had to camp in the open. They had heard no more from Minestus, as there had been nothing about which he felt that he needed to talk to them.

They were within a day or so's journey of their destination when they reached the border between Allaria and the Three Kingdoms.

  1. Not that there was any obvious way of telling when they crossed it.
  2. There was a border post, where they were supposed to identify themselves and state their business.
  3. The dragon had been economical with the truth. The whole of the Three Kingdoms was so heavily warded against magic that he could no longer do anything to help them (or coerce them). [51867] In particular, Astra's illusory dress was no more.
