Appropriate Punishment

Frightened, Fred jumped in the air and accidently had his hind legs step backwards.

"Fool, thou disobeyed me! I am Magician Yilir, the most powerful magician in the world. I will now give you the biggest punishment any person can give to a centaur!" Suddenly a large black cloud appeared with a loud cracking sound, and after a second or so a tall young man stepped out of the cloud. As soon as the man stepped out the cloud disappered.

"Please, magician you just surprised me which led to me misplace my hind leg. I'm not used to this body yet. Please don't punish me!" Fred begged.

"Silence, young centaur. I know very well that you would be devastated if I took those offending hind legs away and replaced your front ones with slow pathetic human feet. I will curse you by making you a human!"

A human being! Evidently this powerful magician didn't realize the circumstances behind Fred and thought Fred would hate becoming a human. Despite Fred quickly adapting to his centaur body (and often wondering how meeting a centaur filly would turn out) his greatest wish was to return back to being a human. As any person skilled in psychology would tell you all Fred had to do was act like he didn't want to be a human and Yilir would think this was adequate punishment and give Fred back his greatest dreams. Sadly for Fred psychology had not been invented yet.

"Thank you Magician Yilir, thank you! That's all I've been wanting the past few hours was to get my old human body back." Yes it's true, Fred really was this stupid.

"Wait, you mean you aren't dreading walking on two legs... and you used to be a human being? Well I guess leaving you in your current form is punishment enough. Good bye." With that the magician snapped his fingers and disappeared.

"NOO!! Come back magician, come back!" Fred was devestated.

1. Fred continued to cry out for Magician Yilir
2. Fred decided to walk backwards and try the other path this time
3. Fred decided to think more about him being a centaur
