What to do now?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 56855

Mina

Could be that he was actually taking on a defensive stance against those who'd necessitated his summoning. That IS possible and since no evidence is evident to speak against (or for) this I won't judge him, yet!

However, the double take he gives some of my friends (the Artizzas and Fertals) seems to speak more than just surprise at odd appearance. Yes, perhaps elves are rarely seen and all that, but I saw maybe recognition in that.

Dr. Vincent gives his friends a cursory introduction of us (leaving out some of the more possible inflammatory information). He just introduces us as associates who, after a bit of business with him may wish to do a business transaction (i.e. a transformation spell or three) with us. That last part raises a few eyebrows both on our part and his (what kind of business dealings do mages on this world really do?), but nothing more is said after that

However, this Dr. Vincent is not gullible enough to mistake the slight hesitation his friend gives when asked about whether or not having received any kind of summoning signal from some of his mislaid friends: "his" Fred and Astra.

"No, can't say that I have old friend," he smiles, shaking his head slightly.

Hm, what does that tell us? Nothing good, I fear. If nothing else, he knows some tidbit of information on our missing couple.

"Oh dear," Dr. Vincent sighs, a slightly strange (and eerie) look now in his eyes. "Why do you feel the need, Pronky? You know that you could never bluff me successfully during our monthly Pyramid card games so why now on this?"

Suddenly I am not quiet sure about this odd fellow . . . Something is more than a little off, suddenly, on him. Like . . . this odd bird is more barmy than I first believed? Or at least less eccentric and more like "insane"?

Still, right now . . .we'll deal with the hand given us. He did help us get the upper hand in the end by being a distraction causer (but I am getting ahead of myself). Of course, something has to be done about this but as it turns out Chiana (good heart in that young grey woman but too impulsive by half sometimes!) who takes the next step! Rather abrupt and drastic next step . . .

Huge dragon claws almost envelope the suddenly still (and frightened) Pronklezilch, not touching him. Not CRUSHING him. However, our dear Nebarian woman turned dragoness could rather easily do that and more IF Pronklezilch should make even a wrong twitching move!

Too bad this little hog's pizzle of a man failed to notice Chiana coming up quietly behind him (and then suddenly transform to spring THIS on him). Poor showing for him, I fear.

Then again, maybe he is not too familiar with true dragons? After all, up until recently little was actually known of the true extent of dragon society (and power) back on Terra Prime. Maybe that or perhaps he'd been too engaged with Vincent to otherwise be aware of others about him, a man of magery of his caliber?

"Care to try that again," she purrs softly. "The truth this time, maybe? Heh?"

"And maybe a search IF he feels like being obstinate?" Elrondir adds, putting on some rather odd (rubbery) gloves. Pulling the sleeve of one glove, he gives it a snap and raises his eyebrow slightly at the rapidly blinking mage in question.

. . .

Why do I have a feeling I do NOT want to know exactly what that last part will entail?

  1. "Brother," Inquirer sighs slightly from the side. "I do believe that this world is not exactly ready for the 'pleasure' of a full body cavity search with latex gloves so please control yourself?"
