Mina Looks like it shall raise a few eyebrows in part, by the odd looks that "bawdy girl" Astra keeps giving Freda! No, when they say (rather shamefacedly after realizing the position they are in and just how good our intentions are) they wish to continue with us, that is not a surprise to me. They seem sincere and so we will give them the benefit of the doubt. Besides, if nothing else I do believe that their best hopes at returning to something more "normal" than what they're under right now lay with us! Let me tell you from experience that the life of an ordinary unwed woman is much harsher than what they wish to deal with! I have been given to know that the lot of womankind is vastly improved in the 20th century and onward, but before then (like say in an era I haled from) it was VERY difficult for a woman to make a living wage. I was able to support myself as a music teacher before Jonathan, but beyond that there was not much opportunity. Oh, there ARE those truly desperate ones who end up selling their own bodies . . . . . . Something that I am given to know that . . .cough cough. . . Chiana did from time to time (and said she had "fun" doing it but I wonder) before joining up with first her friends from Moya (wherever that whatever that exactly entailed). Well, I am just saying that unless they get VERY lucky, they might end up doing "tralking" (as Chiana would put it). That or maybe . . . trying to catch the eye of some man out there and . . . Get themselves married in order to survive. Not happy but that is the way of the world sometime in places like I'm familiar with, to be blunt about it. I don't want to see that happen to them, being forced into any of those positions. No woman should be forced . . . . . . Well, we shall abide her (Freda's) wishes when/if we ever get the chance at another magical item powerful enough to transform our bawdy girls. We'll change Astra back into her old form. However, while whatever magical compulsion which shielded "Lord Fred's" (now Freda's) mind from going insane from the gender switch it did in the end eroded finally any last vestitages of her wishing to return to the realm of man. Freda she is and Freda she wishes to remain (even IF she asked us to remake her into a female Amazon to join up with the Aqualarians). . . . Strange. I was given to understand that Manfox Fred kept up the desire to return to humanity up until the point where he learned that his old nation of Allaria no longer existed (and thus removing any real need for him to take up old forms). It appears that either Freda's sense of duty is not as strong or she feels that there are no obligations back in her old kingdom . . . . . . . Hm, just had a thought that probably would explain. She just realized, maybe, that now that she has settled finally into womanhood that the journey back to manhood would be just as dangerous as the journey TO womanhood? Maybe, but bottom line is that she says that she cannot see herself ("self visualizes" herself) as anything else but woman. Quiet. Anyway, at least that was not totally unexpected to both myself and Allan! Now, while what Freda revealed was MUCH more shocking in certain Victorian circles than what the elves were doing it was much less expected. It was sprung upon us like a bear trap, as it were I believe. First both of the "new" elves had been standing somewhat demurly (if a bit befuddled by what had befallen them) and then literally in a blink of the eye they are all over each other!! . . . Much like I and Allan had rather been upon first becoming dragons, honestly. . . . Must thank Chiana for her trying to spare us from further disconcertment from the new elves' enthusiastic clinch somehow in some fashion that will not further irk her (she did not take at all to being called a "prude", a singularly inappropriate title for her).
