Crossing the Pool.

The pool was only about ten feet across, so it didn't take long for them
to cross it. When they did, however, they noticed something strange.
Neither of them spoke of it, but when they reached the centre of the pool,
the skin exposed to the water began to tingle. Both of them dismissed it
as the cold water on their tired feet. Then, when they left the water the
sensation ended as soon as it started, but an odd feeling did persist, and
again, it was localized around their feet. Looking down, they couldn't
believe what they were seeing. It seemed that their feet had switched! Fred, as he examined them, was shocked to see his now dainty feet encased in a pair of lady's walking slippers. His ankles were bare and smooth, slender and feminine. Exotica, as well, was having quite an experience. Her feet were now big and wide. She looked at her lower leg and saw how thick and hairy her ankles had gotten, and thought that her feet must be hairy now, but couldn't tell, as they were clothed in tough hide boots. What should they do?
