They had not gone much further, however, before they encountered another pool. This one looked much deeper, although it was hard to be sure in the dim light cast by Fred's torch. "It might just be ordinary water, this time," Fred said dubiously. "What would happen if only one of us got wet?" asked the princess. "Suppose I climbed on your shoulders and you carried me across. If it needs both of us to get wet for a switch to occur, that might prevent it." "And what if I tripped and you were thrown into the water?" Fred replied. "Yes, it could be risky I suppose. I could try casting a 'dispel magic' spell on the pool. I dabble a little in magic myself. I've no idea if it would work, though."
