Cecilia knew that she didn't really have a choice here. She could have denied Belboz, but that would be breaking her promise. Even if he was just using her to seize power over the kingdom, it was better this way. Rogell would have plunged Camelyn into anarchy with his warmongering ways. He had long desired to invade nearby realms. At least now, she would be around, and could keep an eye on the crafty old wizard. Sighing, Cecilia steped forward to address the assembled audinece who had just witnessed her coronation. "Lords and Nobles of Camelyn, as Queen, my first act will be to take a husband, who will be entrusted with the full authority to rule this kingdom." The crowed erupted in chatter, all talking and wondering who the choice would be. This was not an unprecedented move, of course. Since the line of succession was typically to the oldest male child, only those few times when a royal family had no male children, did the crown pass to a queen. On occasion when it did happen, however, the princess in question was usually already married, and her husband, while only elevated to prince, would become de facto ruler of the kingdom. This would have happened to Cecilia as well, had she not been transformed. As a 15 year old she was betrothed to marry Sir Gunther, a knight of the kingdom, who was about 10 years older than her. IF their wedding had proceeded as planned, Gunther would now be elevated to prince and would rule, ostensibly with the queen's blessing. "My choice...." Cecilia stopped, looking nervously at the gathered crowd. For a split secondd she thought she saw Gunther in the back of the room, but a moment later he was gone. An uncomforable silence spread over the room. Cecilia straightened herself and continued. "My choice is the man who has restored my identity and helped me to return to my beloved kingdom. He is a man of great power and wisdom. I present to you now, my intended; Belboz the Fell, Sorcerer of the South!" An uproar was caused by this announcement. "What madness is this?" "A necromancer, ruling the kingdom? Preposterous!" "This is an outrage!" the murmuring of the crowd quickly drowned out efforts by Cecilia to calm them. "SILENCE!" A loud voice boomed. A hush fell over the crowd and all looked in shock at the old Bishop, who ever knew he could yell so loudly? "The Queen has spoken! Return to your homes and estates! Your business here is concluded!" The crowed quickly dissipated.
