Fred wished it had been pirates but...priates had captured him. Priates
were the living personifications of humanoid diseases. Fred was going to
be a sacrifice so that Whooping Distension, Mucousy Run-Off and the
Galloping Poops could live on. As Fred learned much later, said diseases
were close to being destroyed by a health program sponsored by King Emry,
several nearby countries and a strange little man with a traveling
laboratory who smelled like farts. Fortunately Fred had been rescued by adventurers who had met in a local library. All had wanted to check out the same book by Stephen Peasent when Fred, trapped in a cart, had thrown a note out the back and into the library. It had been tied to a rock and had bounced off the skull of the intern, who to this day, still doesn't recognize the concept of 'Tuesday' or 'bacon'. Fred is lost in his thoughts. He had been rescued and the diseases were destroyed. One of the adventurers had died during the attempt but it was heroic and he had gotten to give a dramatic speech at the end, which was legally binding in six countries and seven demonic dimensions.
