Yanked by an unexpected movement of one of the vines, Astra lost her grip
on the stick and dropped it just as the tentacles finished pulling her
into the pod. Seconds later she was immersed in green goo, no doubt the
digestive juices of the ravenous plant, and immediately felt her skin
starting to tingle. She struggled to break free of the plant, but before she could work her way back to the outside of the pod the giant mouth shut with a grim thud sealing her inside. She hadn't given up hope though and struggled to get a grip on something that would allow her to leverage herself out of the plant. Unfortunately the walls were too slick, and slowly but surely Astra was drawn deeper into the thing's stomach, the green goo now completely covering her body. Strangely, Astra noticed a blissfulness beginning to overtake her. (Perhaps a sedative inside the plant's digestive juices.) Her resolve slowly began to weaken as the tingling sensation intensified, and Astra knew her digestion had already begun. Hours passed and Astra (perhaps as a byproduct of the sedative in the creature's stomach) had been unable to will up the strength to fight her way out of the creature. Her struggles were now reduced to weak twitches, as she seemed now completely at the mercy of the plant creature. The tingling had intensified to a steady throbbing, and then into a burning as the digestive juices ate away at her skin. She was certain her hair and any other garb on her had already been eaten away by the relentless digestion. The meaning of surrender was foreign to the warrior princess, and even in the midst of the agony she tried to will herself to think of anything to escape this digestive fate, but with her strength ebbing away was unable to settle on any strategy, other than hoping her companions might free her before she was completely digested. (Or had they already been swallowed as well?) Astra's last conscious thoughts as the searing pain of digestion finally gave way to unconsiousness being, "What an awful way to go....... I'm nothing but plant food...." And then:
