Fred Helps the Green Army

Several grenades later saw masses of Blue Army soldiers lying dead and injured, Fred committing coups de grâce with his sword.

The sudden appearance of Fred cause consternation among both sides, Fred using this sudden hesitation on the part of the Blue Army to attack at close quarters with his sword. Hacking and slashing and yelling his bloodcurdling warcry, he caused the remainder of the Blue's to run away. The Green's, meanwhile, had decided to resume their attacks on the tanks, that had ignored the newcomer.

He noticed that those attacking with the anti-tank weapons were having the most success, but then they had to be almost on top of the tanks to be effective. Since there was plenty of cover available, he got as close to one of the tanks as he could and aimed for the side, as he assumed that this would be where the weaker armour would be.

A satisfying explosion seemed to confirm his suspicions, though he had to duck from the secondary explosions caused by the ammunition going up. Making himself as small as a target as possible, he targetted several of the other tanks. The first he got the angle wrong and the grenade just bounced off, exploding harmlessly, but his second was square on target. He had better luck with the third tank.

1. The other tanks tried to beat a hasty retreat.
2. A stray shell blew Fred off his feet.
