Artizza:
Fertal and I had been members of Cuthbert's group before joining the Doctor's party. Thus we had been involved in the quest on behalf of Ravenmane, a Fred who had been changed by a Transform Door into a new form (a centauress in that instance), just like it appears that "Fifi" and "Bambi" have been. There seemed a good chance that Cuthbert might have some of the spell ingredients left over from treating Ravenmane. Naturally when we told the others about this it was agreed to contact Cuthbert as quickly as possible. Speed is important, since the longer it is before Bambi and Fifi are given the treatment the more likely it is that the effects will be irreversible. That's so even with the magical suspension technique that is being used to slow down the course of the Transform Door's effect on their minds. Unfortunately all that the treatment can do is to restore the memories and rightful personalities of the transformees; there is nothing that can be done about their physical changes. Bambi and Fifi are likely to be very disconcerted and unhappy about that on first recovering their memories, of course. But our experience of previous cases suggests that there's a good chance that they will adjust surprisingly quickly. This treatment doesn't have any relevance in the cases of our other two bawdy girls, by the way. They weren't changed by a Transform Door, and in any case retain their rightful memories and personalities - apart from what that court sorceress did, which should be comparatively straightforward to undo. Cuthbert and Joan are able to finish up their business with Ravenmane and her family very quickly, and they soon give us the information that we need.
