Cuthbert, who at this moment in time has some business matters of his own to attend; some of which managed to track him down well before Sigin had. . . . "Ford, my bondsman," the young gunslinger in question asks quietly. "Just how did you come to this place to find me and mine?" As per what one might come to expect, the technique he used is . . . . rather absurd in a fashion (as per a lot of what Douglass Adams wrote for the Hitchhiker series). In another, it was not. He used an Earth detective (Dirk Gentry), known for rather outlandish methods (even by D. Adam's standards) to find a means to Cuthbert's home reality?! Well, whatever. What Ford had to say to Cuthbert (more like a plea) was turned down flatly. Honestly, while he might be flashingly brilliant (so his friends like Roland Deschaine and other say), he honestly didn't feel up to being the CEO of the Hitchhiker! However, in the interest of keeping the Hitchhiker out of the incompetents making a grab for power after the shakeup of Cuthbert basically firing the former heads (who'd been SO dead set on inflicting that Mark 2 on the universe . . . uh, read the last Hitchhiker book to understand that). Well, instead of Cuthbert, he instead was going to make some calls. Call in old favors from the investment firms that helped keep Eternity Inc's accounts more or less in order in offworld investing. A crack team of execs would just LOVE to get their hottrack hands on the Hitchhiker Guide's business. . . and really shake things up in the Hitchhiker universe in the process. If nothing else, the common sense they'd bring to that august firm would stun and amaze the rest of that reality like nothing else ever seen before.... Now that done (and Ford privately thanking whatever dieties he believed in that Cuthbert handn't ordered him flat out that HE should take the position of CEO and stop buggin him), Cuthbert then quickly dropped off that one special book he'd gotten from the Hitchhiker universe, That's a Wrap on God, into the mail so that it would eventually catch up with Betty and Ragan (who'd get a real kick out of it). THAT done, he finally gets to what he'd been planning on doing for a while now, introducing Ravenmane. The young centauress had FINALLY come out of that recuperating spell trance and now wanted to meet . . . the elder D'Honaires (both sets of her new "parents" as it were). At the very doors of the main hall where the meeting is to take place Cuthbert Allgood blinks as Joan Allgood mutters a stifled curse. Ravenmane, startled a bit, also looks over at the beautiful dark skinned woman in askance. It had been nice to stay "offline" for a while, to attend to the real world, but now that Joan had checked her PDA she has just discovered the urgent requests that Sigin 2 (the Doctor's Sigin) had been sending . . . .
