Finding Henri

The second-in-command looks at Astra. "If you'll follow me, Princess."

Astra follows him out of the door. "Don't worry, captain. I can look after myself," she offers the worried officer. As the door closes, he sighs. "If she gets caught again, or even worse, killed, I'll never live it down."

Within around another half an hour, Astra has led the nine men to where Henri had been tending to the wounded enemy scout. He was still there, and the scout still seemed to be hanging on to life, but only just. He turned to Astra, his face showing obvious surprise at her being there. But he made no comment on it. "He did regain consciousness a few times, and I did get some interesting information out of him, though the rest of time it was just incoherent ramblings." He said instead. "As it is now, he'll die if we move him. I was hoping to get help a bit earlier," he added pointedly.

Before Astra could object to this seeming criticism the second-in-command cut in. "It was not the Princess' fault, Henri," he said. "Our tracker twisted his ankle and so couldn't go on. We had to go back to the fort. The Princess was our only chance of finding you."

Before Henri could reply, the scout gave a gurgle. His eyes rolled up in his head and he was still. "Damn," Henri muttered. "His condition must have been even worse than I thought. Still, I think I managed to get all of the useful information he had." They gave the scout as good a burial as they could before heading back to the fort.

1. They arrive there safely.
2. They encounter another couple of scouts.
