The Trial

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 5027

There are so many people who have come to view the trial that is has to be held inside a baseball stadium. The jury box is on third base. The defendants get the home team dug out, the prosecution the visiting dugout. The judge sits on the pitcher's mound, behind an impressively large desk.

He raps the gavel and leans into the microphone. He is a wide man, muscles obvious under his black robe.

"Order!" he says. "Order! The court of Judge T. Stone is now in session. We are here to try Author: designate Seeker and Interactive Story Main Character: Designate Scott for disrupting the goings on of the Extend A Story Universe. And to save time, we will also try Author: desginate Lots42 for going on a pyschotic rampage.

"Hmmm." thought Lots42, sitting by the water fountain. "Whatever happened to those two metaphorical constructs of my mind? Weren't they going to be put on trial? I don't even remember the psychotic rampage. Of course, that's to be expected."

The defense, one Princess Astra, strides onto the field. She adjust the microphone on her red lapel and begins her opening statements.

  1. Most of the spectators are astonished when, later in the trial, several witnesses appear to argue for the inherent goodness in story topic drift. Lord Fred is cool...but...
  2. The trial procedes normally, the Story Cops trying to prove story topic drift is bad.
  3. As usual, because evil isn't very imaginative, the dragon's minions attack the ballpark.
  4. A fistfight erupts between the prosecution team and it's clients and the defendant's people.
  5. Forget this trial stuff. Isn't the whole point of the Story Cops to make sure the story focuses on Lord Fred? So where is Lord Fred?
