The trial seems to be going well for the prosecution (they are able to put
forward many episodes as evidence) until the defence counsel
gets up to make her closing speech, fiery locks tumbling out from under
her lawyer's wig.
Astra gives an impassioned and brilliant oration, beginning with: "The
quality of
mercy is not strained. It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven, upon
the place
beneath." A distinguished-looking man in the front row of the public
gallery, with a high
forehead and a goatee beard, is taking notes. He mutters: "Great
stuff! 'Astra'?
No, that doesn't sound quite right. Maybe 'Portia' would be better."
