Homecoming

Fred and Astra reluctantly broke apart from their hug. "Shall we go to my home, as I suggested?" Fred asked.

"Yes, let's," Astra replied. "Goodbye, snake."

"Goodbye."

There was a moment of disorientation, and then they found themselves outside the castle that had been the home of the Dukes of Suffex for many generations.

1. They were welcomed with astonishment and delight.
2. But something was dreadfully wrong. The castle was a ruin. What could have happened whilst they had been out of touch?
