"You fool!" Jastina spat. It seemed to Embron that her personality was no more pleasant now than it had been when she was an adult. "Isn't Belboz's plan obvious? He's brought the girl here with that very idea in mind. Marry her, and you'll have a wife who is under his control."

Jastina might not have been very polite, but Embron had to admit that she did have a point. Why else should Belboz have brought a new attendant for the Queen with him, when he was aware that she wouldn't be the Queen for much longer?

"Well, Belboz?" he asked. "What do you have to say to that?"

  1. Belboz convinced Embron that he had no ulterior motive. Embron was glad, since Ilsa really was absolutely gorgeous.
  2. Belboz could not convince Embron of his good faith.
