Several hours later, you regain consciousness and Astra wakes up almost at the same moment. Your head is still throbbing, but nevertheless the two of you resume work on your country song. You are pleased to see that Astra does not seem to bear any grudge. Or maybe she punched you as a reflex action whilst still fast asleep.

"It was a pity about Fred," Astra says.

"But we're much better as a duo," you reply heartlessly. "We're the new Sonny and Cher, the new Ike and Tina, the new Kermit and Ms Piggy, the new Teletubbies - no, my mistake, there's four of them."

"Maybe," Astra says doubtfully. "But we'd better get back to rehearsing. Are you sure that these lyrics are quite right:

"An old cowpoke went ridin' out one dark and windy day,
"Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
"When all at once a mighty herd of bounteous boobs he saw
"Come rushin' through the ragged skies and up a cloudy draw."

1. "Absolutely," you say.
2. "Perhaps you're right," you concede. "It doesn't really work, does it?"
