There was a small pile of fruit that had made an appearance during the
night. It wasn't much - a couple of bananas, oranges, and even a bunch of
grapes. Neither wanted to try and work out where they came from. At least
it would help stave off some of Fred's hunger. The snake, which been asleep, woke up at that moment. Astra decided to ask it something that had been nagging her. It'd been stated by the Spirits that they would next contact them when they had reached the foot of the mountains [44431]. The fact that the snake had made an appearance would seem to indicate a change of plan. The snake told her that the Spirits have other things to think about. Some would take longer than anticipated to deal with. This surprised Astra. It was just another thing that seemed to prove that the Spirits were not as powerful as they had first appeared.
