The Never Ending Quest - Episode 46740

As they walked on across the plain, Fred found that his thoughts kept returning to the snake. Snakes were traditionally deceitful and untrustworthy, and they only had its word for it that it had been sent by the Spirits. Supposing that it was working for someone else? Perhaps someone who was opposed to whatever mission it was that they were supposed to be on? He did not mention any of this to Astra, not wanting the snake to overhear.

After a while, the snake - explaining that its kind were not used to travelling long distances and that it was tired - twined itself around Astra's leg again.

  1. They carried on, with Fred feeling increasingly hungry.
  2. Then, without any warning, the snake bit Astra.
  3. The snake appeared to doze off, so Fred risked telling Astra about his concerns.
