Astra Eats but Fred Goes Without

No matter how hard Astra tried to convince Fred, he wouldn't listen. While
he kept his back turned, the frustrated Astra tore off some of the meat
and ate it slowly. Allarians could be so pig-headed at times, she
thought. Though he was obstinate over not eating raw meat, a small voice at the back of his mind queried so what are you going to eat then? Eventually your hunger will be greater then any qualms you might have. Fred managed to quash this voice - for the moment at least. After all, he reasoned, he had gone longer without food before. Anyway, hadn't the Spirits said they would provide? They'll sort something out. He looked around for Astra and saw that she was at the stream, washing off the blood from the raw meat. He walked over to her with the snake following close behind. When he got there, she seemed to have calmed down a bit.
